Gift Basket Idea: Terra Firma Coffee

If you’re like me, there are a few people on your shopping list who always seem to have everything they need. Yet, these folks may be coffee lovers. They may be chocolate lovers, shortbread cravers, etc. In those cases, a nice basket of food treats is always well received. As you can see from the image below, the packaging for Terra Firma coffee is beautiful and rather rustic looking, making it perfect to include in a gift basket.

Terra Firma is marketed as a “world-class coffee with environmental and social character.” We’ll get to the character part in a bit, but how does it taste? I tried Terra Firma medium-roast coffee from Brazil after receiving some free beans for review.
I often see that coffees brag upon their fruit or chocolate notes, but then I just don’t taste it. However, with Terra Firma, I do taste the notes of chocolate and the fruit. I personally think that makes it a great dessert coffee. It’s smooth and balanced, not bitter. Terra Firma medium roast from Brazil is no wimpy coffee, but if you’re looking for something as strong as French Roast, it may not be your favorite. However, Terra Firma does offer light, medium or dark roasts to suit everyone. Plus, you can order it pre-ground or whole bean.
What makes Terra Firma special?
National Geographic partnered with Cafe Bom Dia to offer up this Fair Trade Certified coffee. That means the people who worked to bring the coffee to you were paid fairly and they took care of the earth in the process. Cafe Dom Dia is a fourth-generation family coffee biz based in Brazil. They care about taking care of the earth, and have a CarbonNeutral certification.
