I’m holding a giveaway/random drawing, here at Quilting and Patchwork, for the mini book by Patricia Mainardi, QUILTS The Great American Art. This book explores the women’s role in the decorative art of quiltmaking.
To enter, leave a comment below and share something about quilts, quiltmaking or quilters in your life or family.
(This giveaway will run from today, Saturday, December 20 through midnight of Sunday, December 28. Duplicate entries will be disqualified.
Unfortunately I can open the giveaway only for residents of the US and Canada or those who have a US or Canadian mailing address. I plan to have something soon that everyone can enjoy. Stay tuned!)

I am a fellow momwriter/thewritingmother lady and came to check out your blog. Just in time for a giveaway! Take care. Your work is lovely.
As you know, I adore quilting. I have a beautiful one in blues on my hoop now and I just found out that my husband’s niece is expecting her first child so I get to make a baby quilt! Baby quilts are so much fun to design.
i am a new quilter and just finishing up my first one. I have enjoyed it so much that I can’t wait to start another one. I have no one in my family that quilts so I have been gathering help from my friends and friends of friends to help me with the technical part of quilting. Thanks for your give a way!
I have been quilting for over 20 years and it is my sanity, my vice and something I can’t imagine not being a part of my life.
Hello, My mother-in-law can quilt, but hasn’t had/
made the time to make quilting a constant in her life! I also have a friend who lives and breathes quilting. She recently found a lovely quilt at a yard sale that is in great shape for $40.00. Please enter me in your wonderful drawing. Happy Holidays!

Quilting-I always seem to be running behind. I just finished piecing a king-sized quilt that is supposed to be a Christmas gift. Obviously not going to have it quilted by Thursday!
Please include me in the drawing.
I quilt everyday.
Before I head off to work, I am a teacher, I hand quilt my hexagon quilt for about 30 minutes every morning. It is my relax time before heading off to a hectic day.
In the evening if time allows I work on any project that needs to be worked on and I end my evening hand stitching again. It is by far my favorite.
my husband’s grandmother has been teaching me to quilt and i would love any extra insight. it is a very relaxing hobby and with 2 kids under 3 relaxation is rare:) thanks for the chance:)
We got 3 beautiful quilts for our wedding. Someday I want to make a nice one too, but for now, I have only tied quilts – I have made 2 t-shirt quilts out of my high school shirts and one quilt top that is ready to be tied out of courdory scraps from my husband’s late grandmother.
Both my mother and sister make quilts and they are so beautiful. My mother made my daughter a quilt when she was born and I still have it displayed in her bedroom (she’s now 10). I know they would love to win this.
I would love to have this! Thanks for the chance!
Quilts are so lovely. They really complete a room! Hanging them on a wall looks really nice too!
Thanks for the giveaway!

My grandmother was a quilter and I think its time for me to take it up so I can pass the skill down to other family members!
Thanks
My grandmother made quilts but I was too young to remember anything about how she did it and my mother never took up the art so I have no idea how to do this but have REALLY wanting to learn. I’m dying to try it but, it just looks too complicated! I’m trying to find a book or online resource to help simplify it for me!
My 82 year old mother is a quilter and recently made quilts for both my daughters for Christmas. When I asked them which Christmas presents they liked the most both replied “Nanna’s quilt”! I was thrilled as these quilts can be pass down to their grandchildren.
Love love quilts, my aunts do this and the quilts are lovely keepsakes
