Giveaway of the Week: Medis 24/7 Power Pack

September 15, 2008 by Mary Jo Manzanares

Another week, another great travel product giveaway here at Travel Product Guide!

The Medis 24/7 Power Pack is a small, lightweight, and environmentally friendly portable auxiliary power source that both operates and charges most handheld electronic devices.  It’s based on liquid fuel cell technology, and allows you continued use while re-charging – anytime and anywhere.

24-7 Power Pack 1

You can use it for most of your gadgets, from cell phones and PDA’s to mp3 players and digital cameras, and it comes with a variety of tips that should fit all your devices.  Now you’ll never have a dead cell phone when you need to make an important call or miss a photo of a lifetime because your digital camera battery has gone kaput.

It’s easy to use and in just 3 steps you’ll be back up and running:

  1. Remove the safety tape and squeeze the Power Pack to activate it.
  2. Insert the flat connector plug into the slot of the Power Pack.
  3. Plug the other end of the connector cable into the charging interface of
    your electronic device.

What’s this extra juice going to get you?  About 30 hours of additional talk time for your cell, or 60-80 hours of additional play time for your mp3 player.

When you deplete a fuel cell, you can plug in another one and recycle the depleted one.  It’s perfect to keep on hand “just in case”, and you’ll probably want a second if you’ll be traveling without regular access to power.

The Power Pack starter kit retails for around $40, and the refill Power Pack for around $23.  You can find them online or at a variety of electronic stores.

Thanks to Power it Anywhere, one lucky reader here at the Travel Product Guide will win a FREE 24/7 Power Pack!

All you need to do to enter is leave a comment here on this post about which of your devices is always running out of power.

Deadline for entries is Saturday, September 20th at midnight PT.  I’ll pick a random winner to receive the Power Pack, and post the winner the following day.  Remember — only enter once and leave your real email address in the space provided so that we can contact you.

Check back often to the Travel Product Guide because we will be running a giveaway almost every week!

The cellphones are usually the firstest and the fastest to go, but on a road trip of any length the DVD player is perhaps closer to the hearts of the traveling masses — luckily the laptop doesn’t lend itself to mobile touch-mousing and typing, quite. Oddly, the iPods seem to just ‘go’, at least “long enough” anyway… The GPS doesn’t stay on long enough to be an issue, usually.

  9. Mollie G. says:

Have to ask, since it isn’t obvious — once you “squeeze the Power Pack to activate it”, any way to shut it off once [whatever] indicates a full charge?? Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, etc, so I’ll happily figure this out later — reading through the literature that comes with the device… Thanks!
