Glitter Eggs

For quite a few years now, my family decorates pumpkins each year with glitter. It’s an easy we first saw on the Martha Stewart Show and liked it so much that we do it every year now. So when I saw that she also had an idea to do the same thing with Easter eggs, I was intrigued to say the least!

There’s one thing I don’t like about Martha’s idea in this case (although I usually love everything she comes up with) and that’s that she likes to do these eggs by making them hollow. In other words, blowing out the centers so that the insides come out.
Time consuming!
So to make this idea more efficient, I tried this concept with plastic eggs. You know those cheapie eggs you can get at the dollar or hobby store? I doused these eggs with ModgePodge type craft glue and then the glitter. The glue did not do too well in sticking to the eggs. I went back to the dollar store and found some eggs that were more cloth-like. They had a design on them, but who cares? I was going to cover over it anyways.
This time, it worked great. Messy though. Put the eggs in a plastic box that you will throw away when you’re done with the project. Then you can pour the glue, sprinkle the glitter, and not worry about making a mess.
