Go Away Sleep Cramps

When I have a particularly stressful nights sleep, I usually either wake up in the morning with pain; or the pain interrupts my sleep. Either way, I don’t like it a whole lot. Other than drinking a lot of water, regular stretching, and getting up to “walk it off” I haven’t found a whole lot of success treating this problem. That is until today. I have no idea if this works, but I am definitely going to try it out.
According to ehow.com there is a way to treat charley horse (and other types) of cramps. Here is what they suggest.
- First find the space from the bottom center of your nose to where your upper lip meets.
- Take your thumb and forefinger and pinch this area as you apply constant pressure. Do not pinch so hard as to injure or bruise your skin. A firm steady pressure will do.
- You can remove your fingers as soon as you feel relief from the leg cramp or spasm. It is usually fairly quick. Some state complete relief in seconds or two minutes.
Do you have any fail-safe tricks to help the night-time cramping???

MAGNESIUM! (other people have had better luck with calcium, but I definitely need the magnesium – makes sense too, because magnesium is needed for the “relax” signal to the muscles).
I have more trouble with restless-legs at night, and I have found exercise to be necessary for that.
Ah yes the very necessary intake of supplements.
I have found the herbal chinese medicine of adrenosan to be helpful…but for a more general well being.
Of course, I can’t take it when I am sick…so I am not able to take it for long periods of time.
I get these at night sometimes and they’re terrible. I hope I can remember to try this next time one wakes me up.
Sherrill,
good luck with this….let me know if it works for you, or even (maybe especially) if it doesn’t.
