Good Foundations.

Ok…I don’t usually talk about stuff like this, but I’m sooo happy to report that at the age of 46, I have finally found my correct…a-hem, brassiere–which means that for most of my adult life, I’ve been wearing the wrong size.
I can’t tell you how many mornings I was late for work–due to unacceptable undergarment selections. When you are wearing the wrong bra–no matter how beautiful your blouse or jacket is, it will look ill-fitted and sloppy. When you are wearing the correct one however, you experience a form of empowerment like no other.
Oprah did a show not too long ago which shed light on the fact that most women do not wear the correct size…and that they don’t really know how to measure themselves. She took a group of women of various shapes and sizes, had them properly fitted and voila! The difference in each woman’s silhouette and posture was amazing.
So with this in mind, I gathered up some courage, marched into a local lingerie shop and told the saleswoman, I think I’m wearing the wrong bra…wasn’t that brave? The look she gave me was–gee, ya think?
Within seconds of looking at my shape…she knew what I should have been wearing…picked out a basic style, in a new and correct size…and there, standing in front of the mirror (mildly embarrassed) was the new me.
I urge you to get to your department store or “ladies’ shop” and get fitted, you will be so happy you did.
I’m going to get dressed right now, so I can feel good about myelf, as I take the dog out for a walk.

LOL! I can relate totally to the mirror thing. This past spring I finally braved a store which has staff that fits you for such garments. I’ve been wearing the wrong size most of my life too… Who knew that such a seemingly small difference could actually have such an effect?
