Today is my son’s 6th Grade Graduation Day, earlier today they had an awards ceremony and my son received the an award at and later today he’ll be getting his certificate. In a way to celebrate their last days in elementary school the staff takes the kids down to the park and allows them to play all day and have a BBQ. That’s gotta be fun!

It’s strange thinking about him moving on to the next grade, but it didn’t dawn on me until late last week that he was actually entering Jr. High. Yes, I knew he was going into the 7th but it had not occured to me. Growing up we have four to five different schools that seperated by age so it wasn’t from one to the next and bam high school. So instead of just looking at my son going into middle school I am jumping one step further and realizing in just two short years he’ll be in high school. Wow.

I remember the day I brought him home and daddy held him in his arms, or the first year of preschool where he had a little girlfriend, Makayla and the two were always together. Time sure does fly and I’m not sure I’m really ready for him to graduate, even if I’m proud of his accomplishments. It’s one of those things that we just want to hold on to as long as we can as parents.

To my son:
Have a great graduation! No it may not be high school but you’ll be there soon enough.
Love, Mom
