Green dating: find your eco-soul-mate

Green singles have a new online option for meeting their eco-soul-mate; EcoDater. EcoDater is an earth-friendly online dating site for single men and women who want a relationship but not at the cost of the planet. Folks interested in holistic lifestyles, simplicity, vegan food, vegetarianism, organics, nature, biking, and other green issues may be able to find their perfect match at EcoDater.

Anyone can join EcoDater under one of two plans:
Free EcoDater: join at no cost and gain access to search for eco-dates, create a profile with picture, contact other free EcoDater members, and post EcoPolls to their profile.
Premium EcoDater: premium members get to post an unlimited number of photos, access advanced and keyword search functions, contact all other EcoDaters. Plus premium members have access to EcoMatch, a feature that allows you to find members based on profile data.
Right now you can join FREE as either a free EcoDater or FREE as a premium EcoDater charter member which gives you a free lifetime premium membership. This offer is only for a limited time though, so join soon.
Other stuff:
- There’s an EcoDater blog with fresh green news – although it doesn’t appear to be updated daily, some of the news is still cool.
- They note that there’s “a comprehensive links section” featuring link resources for eco-friendly products, topics, and issues on the web. However, as of right now there’s one link only (?) hopefully this will change soon.
- Members can sign up for TreeMail, a bi-monthly newsletter that announces new features and developments on EcoDater.com and within the EcoDater community, as well as highlights from the blog and links section.
- EcoDater plans on donating, “A portion of all membership revenue to charitable organizations that represent the interests of the eco-friendly community. These include the National Resources Defense Council, World Wildlife Fund, and American Forests.“
I did a basic free search to see what’s what and it looks pretty good, although, my search only returned about 20 people. Remember it’s a new site though, membership can only go up. I thought the profile pages were cool – there is SO much room offered for folks to post their likes, dislikes, personality traits, hobbies, and more; way comprehensive.
I’m not actually a fan of online dating – it always seems a little weird and sketchy to me. BUT that’s just one opinion and honestly, if I was single, and was comfortable with online dating, I would likely use this site because it didn’t creep me out.
If you’re comfortable with online dating, and you’re looking for someone who loves recycling as much as you, I’d for sure check out EcoDater.
