In Chicago this weekend? Stop by Green Festival, a two-day event at the Chicago Navy Pier, which celebrates everything that’s working in our communities—for people, business and the environment. Here, green means safe, healthy communities and a strong local economy.
This the second year Green Festival has paid a visit to Chicago. This year, they are expecting over 350 vendors and 30,000 attendees. Wow!
What to expect?
Green Festival attendees will explore the latest in clean technology, green building, socially responsible investing, eco-fashion, renewable energy, green careers and green collar jobs, natural foods, groundbreaking films, eco-tourism and more. The wide selection of workshops, speakers and panelists will cover topics both local and international in scope, ranging from “How to Green Your Restaurant Experience” and “Eco-Home Remodeling on a Budget,” to “Building the Green Economy” and “Green Parenting: Raising Children Without Trashing the Planet.”
$15 will get you complete access for the entire weekend. Ride your bike, use public transportation to get there or bring along 3 or more books to donate and get an additional $5 off your admission. Students also get a $5 discount. Kids under 12 and Co-op America or Global Exchange members are free.
Nowhere near Chicago this weekend? Don’t worry. Green Festivals are planned for Washington DC and San Francisco this November.
