Green goods made from plastic bottles

People DON’T recycle plastic bottles at an alarming rate. Only about 23% of all plastic bottles are recycled, so besides recycling we obviously need to consider something else to do with our used bottles. Luckily many companies are now making green goods that are handy and made directly with recycled plastic bottles.

Some of the many products that can be made with recycled plastic bottles include…
- Clothing and other goods made of fabric
- Plastic lumber
- Garden supplies
- Pallets, crates
- Plastic pipe
- Kayaks
- Toys
- School lunch trays
- Park benches
- Reusable bags
- Carpet
- Pillows and sleeping bags
- Pet supplies
- And more.
In fact my futon mattress is even made with recycled plastic bottles (REFILL) – so plastic bottle recycling can be used for items large and small. To find items made with recycled plastic bottles look for products that note terms like, “Made with recycled bottles,” “Made with a RPET and organic cotton blend,” “Recycled PET,” “Recycled polyethylene,” and likewise terms. Below is a gallery of products you can buy that are made with recycled plastic bottles…

- Revenge Is… – Tee-shirts for women, men, and kids and bags
- Green Toys – Toys made with recycled milk jugs
- ACME Bags EarthTote
- Men’s ecoS-Hemp from Simple (among other shoes they make)
- Voltaic Backpack Solar Backpack
- Eco Nap Recycled Pet Bed
- Garden Gloves
