If you’ve got an iPhone, chances are you love your applications. Why not choose some green apps to eco-up your day? Here’s a list of just some of the eco-apps available.
FREE iRecycle from Earth 911: I’m a big ol’ fan of Earth 911 in general and now they have an app for your iPhone (see screen shot above). This app rocks with access to over 100,000 recycling and disposal locations for over 200 materials. You can get directions to the nearest site from your current location via a map, get hours of operation, and more.
FREE GoodGuide mobile: App featuring over 70,000 products and rating for all sorts of goods. Focused on helping you find safe & healthy products. Read about this app at the New York Times.
$5.99 greenMeter: “App for the iPhone and iPod Touch that can compute your vehicle’s power and fuel usage characteristics, and help evaluate your driving style to increase efficiency, reduce fuel consumption and cost, and lower your environmental impact.” This app computes data in US or metric units and offers two calibration options for the accelerometer.
FREE The Green Lemur: Tips to help you to live a greener lifestyle.
$5.99 The Ecological Calendar: I know 2009 is half over, but this is a good app anyhow. Especially good to keep in mind in case they release a 2010 version. This lovely app features items you can use to enjoy nature more like best dates to see meteor showers, active moon phases, and more, all packaged with beautiful artwork.
FREE 3rdWhale: Not live in all cities, but many. Helps you to locate green businesses like vegetarian restaurants, fair trade stores, yoga centers or bicycle shops.
