“Green TP Smarts”

This was the subject of a recent email sent to me by one of my friends and fellow greenie, L.
L. is usually one of my prime sources of info for posts here at Daily Tomorrow, but in this case, she was actually turning to me for advice:
Dude, do you know of any soft “green” tp? I’ve been trying to use the eco friendly tp but it smarts! i need something that doesn’t feel like I’m wiping w/ a piece of bark!
After I stopped laughing, I wrote back to let her know that I was actually pretty happy with my latest green experiment – eco-friendly toilet paper by Green Forest. Like most “green tp,” it’s made from 100% recycled paper and whitened without chlorine. Unlike some other green tp, I don’t think it feels like bark.
And let me share a personal moment with you, dear readers, this opinion is coming from someone who has pooped in the woods before.
It is definitely softer than other green tp that I have experienced. Certainly softer than bark and it’s cheaper than other brands by a pretty significant amount. My only complaint is that even thought it’s two-ply, it’s not as substantial as I’d like it to be – a price we pay, I suppose for it’s suppleness.
But toilet paper is a pretty personal matter. For more opinions to help you make your own choice, check back to Ali’s post on this topic from a few months ago.
And no matter which one you choose, try to make that roll last!

heehee. i am still using the rough stuff; gotta use it up! will try your suggestion next.
Wait, I think I spoke too soon. A few days after I posted this, my husband placed his complaint about the “roughness” of the TP that I so publicly praised here.
So, obviously, people’s tushes are different and it will probably take a few tries until you find the best option for you.
