There is more to the giants in the technology world than just names and sales and profits. In fact, these giants should also be focusing on things like the community and the environemnt. And in the environment aspect, Greenpeace made sure that they would be looking at these giants and see just how green (or not-so-green) can they get.

As far as Greenpeace’s data was concerned, Dell and Nokia were the best ones among the lot of giants. They may be the best but their scores were not quite that good.

Some of the criteria that Greenpeace looked into when judging the companies included the kind of processes the companies do so as to remove toxic chemicals from their products and also how they recycle products gone obsolete.

On the results, Iza Kruszewska, a Greenpeace campaigner against toxics, shares, “It is disappointing to see Apple ranking so low in the overall guide. It is meant to be a world leader in design and marketing, and should also be a world leader in environmental innovation.”
