Gum in the Gut and Squirrel on Fire

In a lighter vein than the previous post, I note two potential health “hazards.”
(1) Swallowing chewing gum. If this should happen, the gum does not take seven years to digest. (Not that you were wondering: Neither Charlie nor I are gum chewers, but on the occasions when he has a piece—-chewing seems to be comforting and calming to him—I have wondered about him swallowing it, and what might result.)
(2) Frying squirrels. That was not a typo—-a few days ago in Bayonne, NJ, a flaming squirrel fell out of the sky (via a telephone wire) and ignited a car.
Guess Charlie and I will have to keep our eyes wide open on our walks.

Just don’t walk and chew gum at the same time. At least, not in Bayonne!
No picture of the flaming squirrel? How *deeply* disappointing…
“…Police said there were no injuries — except for the squirrel, that is, which is dead.”
(Well, if it hadn’t been after 10,000
volts and the whole business with the car,
that would have been even more of an astonishing news story).
BTW–October is Squirrel Awareness Month according to squirrel.org
.
Thanks for the lighter news for Friday and happy squirrel month
Oh, the frying squirrel! I guess I’ll walk carefully in my neighborhood. We have squirrels galore.
