Hallmark Greeting Card Competition – Your Funny*Ness
My friends at Hallmark are having another greeting card contest!
This time, they’re looking for your funniest greeting card ideas.
Send Hallmark a card, any card on any topic, as long as it’s funny and original.
Eighteen finalists will have their cards printed and sold to the public, both at www.hallmark.com/you and in more than 3,500 participating Hallmark Gold Crown stores. You may also win $250 bucks.
Finalists will be selected and announced on April 14. America ’s choice for the Grand Prize winner gets another $1,000 cash and a trip to Chicago to spend a weekend with Second City ! Free tickets, a walking tour, a private workshop…and of course their concept on a Hallmark card sold in more than 3,500 participating Hallmark Gold Crown stores.

There should card writing competitions where the grand prize winner gets royalties from their card being sold.

Hi Carol, I agree with your comment and with Riaz. Seems like it is not much being given for your card to “make it” and not get royalties, even if it were cents on the dollar, because we know Hallmark is going to make millions on it and then some for some. The things offered to the winner is nice, but, as a big company I think they can go a bit further and help someone else survive in this world, too. And, it is not to say it is not appreciated what is goven, just that it would be nice if one could make more of their efforts than to just get a few hundred or the thousand. Might also be nice if they offered to take one’s designs and retail them for a year and give a steady income from which royalties are received, or the like. Just my take on it all. Have a great day!
