Hamster-powered Phone Charger

Now, while the spirit of energy self-sufficiency is evident in this young man’s science project, I’m not entirely sure about enslaving house pets to achieve it.

16 year old Peter Ash, of Lawford, Somerset, England (the funny looking one on the right) attached a generator to his hamster’s exercise wheel and then connected it to his phone charger. Elvis (the hamster) runs in his wheel, as hamsters are apt to do, and Peter gets his phone charged in an economical way.

Peter apparently came up with the idea after listening to his sister complain about how Elvis was keeping her up at night running in his wheel. Unfortunately, Master Ash only received a grade of C for his project.
