Happy Chinese New Year

It is amazing how a lot of Americans are unaware of events and Holidays that take place in other parts of the world. This obviously includes myself and no matter how much I think I am in tune with world events, there are times where I am shocked about how little I really know.

For instance Daddy Forever who lives in Oregon just celebrated the Chinese New Year with their kids. The kids got dressed up as comic book characters and everything. Though they make it clear that it isn’t part of the actual tradition to dress up like that they still had a good time.

Even though Chinese New Year has nothing to with super heroes, my son has found a way to tie the two together. In the past, whenever Spiderboy wanted to buy a new super hero toy, I tell him no because he doesn’t have any money. Now that people have given him money for Chinese New Year, he asks me to take him to Target so he can buy more super heroes (apparently 50 action figures are not enough). To my son, Chinese New Year is like Christmas.

And here they are….
