Happy Easter!

A lovely Easter was had by all today.

This is the first time in I think, ever that we’ve been in town for the holiday. Usually, we go to Mass, run by my parents house for an Easter Egg Hunt and then make the 2 hour trek to my mother-in law’s house.

However, we were dis-invited from MIL’s this year. OK, not really but she was just here for 10 days and she’s doing some remodeling at her place, so she told us she was sitting out the Easter festivities this year.

So, it was just Mass and my dad’s house today.

After my mother died, I sort of forced my dad into continuing the Easter Bunny thing at his house. I get all the stuff and all he has to do is hide the eggs and make some coffee. Oddly enough he’s kind of gotten into it. The eggs are carefully hidden and he walks around to make sure they’re all found. I felt a little guilty running off and leaving him last year, though he was invited to MIL’s with us.

Since we were hanging around this year, he and I went to the store yesterday and got some stuff to make for Easter lunch. It wasn’t fancy enough to call it “Easter Dinner”, but it was good.

Now we’re full of turkey and candy and home doing a lot of nothing.

A nice day, indeed.
