Have A Seat, He’ll Be Right With You

Most of us have been in this place – we may just not have recognized it this way. I didn’t, until a wise sponsor was able to point it out.

We all, at one time or another, become frustrated because things aren’t going “our way.” Our literature talks about it at great length so there’s much more to it than what I’m going to mention this morning.

Matt M. told me that God had three answers to my prayers. And I thought, as I usually did, oh geez, Matt’s gonna tell me more stuff I don’t want to know lol…

So, God’s three answers to my prayers were “Yes,” “No,” and;

“Not Now”

“Not now” did NOT feel good! Most of the time, “not now” still doesn’t feel good! But today I liken it to going to a dentist to have a painful tooth pulled or going to the Dr.’s office for minor surgery. When I go to the Dentist or Dr.’s office what’s the first room I go to? Of course! The waiting room!

And when God answers my prayer with “Not Now” I am in God’s Waiting Room. When I am in God’s Waiting Room, something else happens. First things first – I don’t like being there. Then I recognize that I’m subject to His time… In God’s Waiting Room – In God’s Time!

And then I remember – if God is for me, who can be against me. I’m sober because of an Act of Providence that I certainly did not create. Left to my own devices, I’d be drunk.

Thank You Father

  1. It’s good to know that I have insurance when I’m in that waiting room.
