Have Broken China?

 broken china

It has happened to everyone…A favorite dish…a soapy hand…

Crash!

It is bad anytime but when the china is vintage or special in some way it is…awful.  If you keep china cement on hand it is often dried up and unusable when you need it..since you don’t tend to use it every day.

Well, here is an OLD OLD recipe for homemade china cement.  Give it a try and see what you think.  There is no better way to fix vintage china than with vontage cement, right?

You just mix gum arabic (available at art supply stores and other places) with enough plaster of paris to create a thick, syrupy stuff.  Rub that on both sides of the break and press together.   Hold for  a few secons and then let set completely for about 24 hours.

There…Good as new.  And if it is too broken for fixing you can always make a mosiac out of it, right?
