There are great parents and then there are lousy ones. When we were young, we were taught to behave when we were taken to someone’s house. That meant no running around and touching whatever caught our eye. We brought our kids up the very same way and I could take my two anywhere without a thought. But I soon learned that wouldn’t be the case when we invited people to our house. The minute the door was closed, the “parents” forgot that they had kids and merely looked for them when it was time to leave. Obviously, they were not invited back.
