He prefers family in 2-D

My dad’s niece and her family are coming to visit this weekend. My cousin is the daughter of my dad’s brother who died back in March.

My dad cracks me up, he’s all about family and family connections through geneology, etc., but, he gets annoyed when he has to entertain any of them in real life.

He’s known about this visit for some time now, and, I even bought him some new towels for his guest bathroom. When he complained that there was guests to use them (my uncle was usually the only visitor), I reminded him of his niece’s visit.

His next words? “No way, they’re not going to stay here.”
