Healthy Foods Make You Overeat?

Not sure how I feel about this study. One report says that when we eat healthy, we “instinctively increase the portion on our plate” because we feel as if we’re doing such a great thing we deserve to have more.

The study went on to say that the folks that ate more healthy food ended up “consuming just as many calories as if they were eating regular dishes.”

While I think this might be true initially, I also believe that if people stick with a healthy diet, this overconsumption balances itself out. What do you think?

One Response to “Healthy Foods Make You Overeat?”
  1. I think most healthy foods are more satisfying, and more filling. I would think you would consume less calories (overall). It probably depends on whether they were eating processed “healthy” foods (nutrition bars-shakes, etc), or more natural healthy foods like fruits, vegetables, lean meats, and whole grains. Interesting results though.
