Hearty Chicken Nuggets

Chicken nuggets are one of the few foods my son will eat without complaint. (Except for yesterday at that Indian restaurant near the London Natural History Museum…but that’s another story.) Sadly, Darlene Zimmerman reminds us in the Detroit Free Press that:
A typical five- or six-piece nugget order provides more fat than a small hamburger. Add a dipping sauce and a medium order of French fries and you’ll have more calories than a double Quarter Pounder with cheese, about the same amount of fat as two Big Macs and more than half a day’s worth of sodium.
GASP! Maybe it was a good thing my son refused to eat his lunch yesterday. Darlene provides a heart healthy chicken nugget recipe for us to try. Let me know if you do!
