Hearty Habits #1: Losing Weight

One of the hardest things about living a hearty life is knowing where to start or getting new inspiration when it feels like you’re in a rut and just don’t want to keep it up anymore. Since everything is do-able one baby step at a time, this week I’m starting a new Hearty Habits series. Every Tuesday and Thursday, I’ll be featuring a healthy habit that I hope will provide inspiration for everyone!
If you have a healthy habit to share, please leave a comment here or email me!
This week, Kerri Aldrich shares with us her one healthy habit that she thinks everyone should know.
[My husband] Cory says the fact that I’ve lost 30 lbs this year counts here. Yes, it does. The fact that I’ve been off the exercising and calorie counting for the last week or so makes me feel unworthy to count it, but it’s what I have to offer. And now that I’ve admitted to everyone that I’ve stopped, it’s time to get back on it. So, exercising 5-6 times a week, as well as counting every calorie I consume, is what I’ll be back to doing to keep my heart healthy.
I have to admit that I feel much better since I’ve lost the weight. It’s not all about the smaller clothes or anything. It really is about running around and playing with the kids and not dreading the exhaustion. And, it’s easier to run from Cory when he’s chasing me around the house. Heehee.
Losing weight is something most people struggle with and I’m no exception. Counting calories has never been “my thing” but I did it for the first time during my pregnancy and I was shocked at how much I actually consume on a regular basis. So despite the hassle, I’d recommend it if you’re at all serious about losing weight.
