Hello… pasta? Are you under there somewhere?

Greetings from Montana! While I had a great time in Yellowstone National Park this week, the food was definitely not a highlight. It’s the off-season, so many area restaurants were closed for the winter, and the ones that were left were not exactly vegetarian paradises.
The first evening we went to the ‘fancy’ restaurant in town, and I ordered the one vegetarian main course on the menu: ravioli with asparagus and red peppers. Oh, and about a gallon of cream-like sauce. It was wrong on many, many levels.
The second evening we tried a pizza place that proudly advertised its salad bar. Its salad bar, which consisted of iceberg lettuce, canned peas, flavorless tomatoes, mysterious chocolate pudding… you know, typical cheap salad-bar stuff. At least I got to eat a couple veggies.
So in conclusion, don’t go to Yellowstone for the vegetarian food. But it’s still worth a trip.
