We all know how harmful soda is for our health. Still, there are so many of us who simply can’t live without the sugary drinks. This article explains how much harm sodas do, and how you can get over the ’soda’ addiction. Some of the shocking facts from the article:
- Americans spent $66 billion on carbonated drinks in 2004
- A 20 ounce bottle of soda is the equivalent of 17 teaspoons of sugar
- Women drinking at least one soda a day have 85% more chance of developing type 2 diabetes than women who drink less

I’ve never been addicted to soda, but do get the craving for a can every few weeks.
Sorry, that was me. Administrative issues.
I once received a detailed mail regarding the harm that sodas cause, it was a horrifying read. The amount of money in this industry is huge, and the advertisements portray as if drinking soda is “cool”. All this adds up to the hype and most soda lovers (addicts?) aren’t aware of the harm they are causing themselves.
Thanks for the comment, Hsien.
