Help Name My New Puppy

March 12, 2008 by gayla

Tomorrow evening, the latest edition of my family will be coming home.  Something this tiny and this adorable needs an extra special name.

I would LOVE to have some of you help me out!

This is a picture that “looks” like her – though it’s not her.  I didn’t have my camera with me last night when I first saw her.

Take a look at the picture and leave a comment with the name that comes to mind.  Later in the week, I’ll create a post revealing who left the winning suggestion.

teacup-yorkie

She won’t get much bigger then what you see in this photo so keep that in mind when coming up with a name.

I can’t wait to see what you have to offer up :)

My son says you should name it “Dorito”. I guess he’s fond of chips.

  2. Eliza says:

lol that is so cute, I think I’d stick with “teacup,” hey I had a cat named “Del Taco” once.

  3. Ashley says:

I had a mini Yorkie once that was such a sweetie – she really got me through some tough times. Sadly she was hit by a car a couple of years ago – her name was ‘Cokie’…if you want to go a ‘in memory of’ route that might be cute?

  4. Terry Candee says:

She’s like a little chocolate chip Call her “Chippy”

  5. She looks like a jellie bean OR a cutie pie OR a peanut.

  6. BMS says:

    Speck?
    Minnie?
    Nano?

  7. sara l. says:

    How about Little Bit?

  8. jessica says:

i saw her cute little picture and the first thought that came was “Rosebud.”

  9. Eliza says:

okay so you like Dixie and Mystic….what about a little Muffin, she just looks like one. I could eat her up, okay not really but look at her.

  10. You could even go with peanut butter :)

  11. Maria says:

sprite. snuggle bunny? LOL! I’m not good at naming dogs, but that is a cutie pie!

  12. Ashley says:

    Muffin’s cute.

  13. Kelly says:

The first name that hit me when I saw the photo was “Corkie the Yorkie” :~)

  14. Gayla McCord says:

@ Deb – Dorito is cute – but it sounds like a boy to me

@ Eliza – I’m still kinda leaning toward Teika – grammy likes it too – but it’s still not one of those that just hits ya and sticks.

@ Ashley – Cokie is a cute name. It’s made the short list

@ She does look like a little chocolate chip – you made my mind roll over to Snickers or Reese

@ Divapalooza – Jelly Bean is on the short list too

@ BMS – I like Nano – especially with the iPod craze :)

@ Sara L – Little bit will most likely be what she’s called as a nic – but I’m trying to think of something that would be snazzy on the registration papers.

@ Jessica – I like the idea of a flower but having one dog named Rose already, it might get confusing.

@ Eliza – Dixie and Mystic are on the short list too.

@ Maria – I like Sprite – she does look like one of those for sure :)

@ Kelly – I like Corkie too! It’s on the short list!

After emailing a pic to friends and relatives, other short list names are:

    Gracie
    Echo
    Razzle
    Chloe
    Zoey
    Daisy
    Shasta
    Sage
    Cammie (as in Chamomile Tea)
    Scrappie

Again, nothing has really STUCK me as the “that’s IT” name just yet.

    Still, thinkin’ thinkin’ thinkin’

  29. Rob says:

I think a dog should be named by looking at its face. Every puppy has a distinct look on thier face. This little puppy has a naughty puppy face and should be called “Uh-Oh”. It is unique and is easy to say and remember.

  30. wanna dog but mum says NO says:

i think princess or tinkerbell will make a nice name but if you dont really like cliche than maybe star or cupcake

  36. Nicoleedarling says:

I think a good name for her should be something short and sweet.
Call her “T” short for “Tiffany”. Tiffany is a cute name and when i think of it i imagine sparkling diamonds. Call her T Cuz its small short and sweet like I kno she’ll be.
