Because I’m all about keeping you lovelies in the know here at Mental Health Notes, here’s a heads-up regarding Mental Health America (MHA) and the Labor-Heath and Human Services-Education Appropriations bill, H.R. 3043. According to MHA:
Passage of this funding bill is critical to reverse cuts proposed by the Administration, and a wide margin of support is needed to override a threatened veto.
and
290 votes are needed to veto-proof this bill and avert threatened cuts, including earlier-proposed cuts to critical consumer programs.
The House of Representatives will address this bill this week, so send a letter to your state’s Representative and ask him or her to vote yes. For your convenience, MHA has made it possible for you to send a pre-written, email to your representative.
Remember, it may seem like such a tiny – and quick – thing to do, but each and every letter counts. Without any, there’d be none.
