Helping Save Pet Lives During Fires

More than 40,000 pets die each year due to smoke inhalation. Yet, pet oxygen masks can help turn things around. The only problem is that fire departments and EMT offices often lack the funding to put a pet oxygen mask on each truck. The masks can effectively help save pet lives only if they’re on every fire truck.

October is National Fire Safety Month, and a new campaign is underway to raise awareness of the need for pet oxygen masks. Bark Buckle UP and Pet Safety Lady teamed up with other industry experts to launch Bark 10-4 with the goal of getting a pet oxygen mask for every fire truck by asking the public to sponsor them.
Here’s how Bark 10-4 works:
You can sponsor an individual SurgiVet® mask for $25, or a mask set, (small, medium and large mask) for $65. Each sponsor can designate the specific fire department to receive the gift, to be delivered with the shipping and handling costs paid by Smiths Medical.
Do you know a pet who was saved from a fire?
