Hemp Style Jewelry–Without the Hemp

I had a bug in my bonnet (I’m not so sure if it was a bee) the other day to do something with plastic bags–so I found a couple of sites that got me off and running.
The first was a site that told me how to make “yarn” from plastic grocery bags. It isn’t as strong, but it is junk creation!
Check out the Gooseflesh blog here. (Plastic bag yarn picture from Gooseflesh blog)
I decided that it would be cool to make some hemp-style jewelry with beads and stuff, so I found the Beadage website to show me the knots for making that sort of jewelry. (Hemp picture is from the Beadage site)
Sadly, the experiment didn’t work out, for two reasons: 1) the plastic stretches, which makes it a poor material for making hemp-style jewelry and 2) it didn’t look that great once the necklace was made and my wife tried it on.
If you all can find a way to make this work, let the rest of us know!
