Hi-ho, hi-ho, it’s back to work he goes

So, my dad is going back to work today.

Seventy-four years old, less than 3 weeks out from a lumbar laminectomy and returning to work teaching high school. I’d say that’s pretty good.

The dog? Dunno. No worse, I suppose, but, when you’re 119 years old, it’s hard to tell.

    Go Busy Grandpa!

I still think that surgery sounds made-up, but I know you went through a pile of crap to make it to this point so it’s got to be real. Congratulations – a major medical crisis handeled well. Now lets take a vacation from those okay ;)

I’m impressed! I’m in my twenties and don’t feel up to teaching high school :)

  4. Library Mama says:

    Good luck on both counts.

I’m hoping that your dad’s going back to work will help distract him and therefore help him heal more quickly.

On the dog front, I wish you all the best. Last May, we said good-bye to our 13-year-old Cockapoo. She had been our first baby, and, over a year later, I still occasionally call our new dog by her name (even though he’s male – Is there something Freudian in there?).

Thinking of all the Busy Family…

    Kudos to your Dad!

    Your father is very impressive.

Where I come from, almost all the teachers take early retirement.

    Hurry For Dad and

“Get Well Soon” for the dog.
