Hiltl’s back!
Europe’s oldest vegetarian restaurant is back at its old but newly-renovated location after a couple years in a temporary one. Hiltl has been delighting Zurich’s vegetarians since 1898, and is certainly one of my favorite restaurants in this city. Its sleek new interior is a fabulous environment for a meal off of the extensive, creative menu or at the fresh and variety-filled buffet (which is what I had for lunch today).
Another exciting feature of the new location is that it includes space for cooking classes, which Hiltl will be offering soon.
If you are ever in the area, definitely give it a try! You can even make instantly-confirmed reservations on their newly-redesigned website (the form is in German, but pretty easy to figure out; you could also call to speak to someone in English). Reservations are highly recommended if you want to dine at peak lunch or dinner hours.

Love the place, only place where I spend ages looking at the menue card only to finish up at the buffet… The nice thing about th eplace is that you could go there two days in a row on a week end and not get bored
