Holding on to Halloween Costumes

Usually I am all about purging stuff from your home and not holding on to a lot items that clutter your home. But there are some things that are just a good idea to hold on to and I was reminded by that this weekend.

I was talking to a friend of mine this weekend and we were talking Halloween costumes. She was mentioning how her daughter wanted to be a cheerleader and I told her that’s what my daughter was a couple of years ago. She then asked me if I still had it and sure enough, I still did. Halloween costumes are one thing that I tend to hold on to for awhile because my kids love to dress up and they get a lot of use out of them. We still have a penguin, scarecrow, pirate, princess and several Star Wars costumes in the dress up bin.

I was glad to be able to hand that cheerleading costume off to a friend and help her save some money! Sometimes it is a good idea to hold on to stuff, as long as you do so in an organized way. I think that’s the key.

So, what Halloween costumes will be going into our dress up bin on November 1st? Well, a gorilla, renaissance princess and the ever-so-popular Spider Man. Here’s a picture of my 3 kids all dressed up. Enjoy!

How cute! Your girl looks so much like you. Cedar usually breaks his costumes (don’t ask me how but he does) so I can’t save them but I think it’s thrifty to save them when you can.

She is a spitting image. She just got glasses and when I wear mine we look even more alike. It’s crazy.

That’s funny about Cedar. Halloween costumes are usually very sturdy anyway.
