Homemade Baker’s Release Spread(Baker’s Joy)

When I was baking things commercially I went through alot of those expensive spray bottles of Baker’s Joy.  It didn’t matter so much because it was a tax write off and that stuff works really really well.

These days, while I still bake, and I still think that stuff works great, the expense is more than I want to spend.  So….what do ya do?

Make it yourself!

This is not a spray but it is a very good all purpose wipe for baking pans. The pans are greased ad floured in one step just like with the spray…it is just a little messier.

1 cup vegetable oil (light flavor like corn or peanut)

1 cup vegetable shortening, at room temp
1 cup all-purpose flour

Mix all the ingredients together until completely blended.  Store in the refrigerator tightly covered for up to 6 months.  This makes ALOT.
