Bubbles are lots of fun.  A great way to sooth a cranky kiddo before your own fireworks start going off is to grab one of your favorite books or magazines, some bubbles, and the offending child and head to the bathroom.  Put the child in a warm tub, hand him the bubbles and a bubble wand (and some homemade soap crayons) and sit there are read your book for as long as he is interested in the bubbles or until they run out, which ever comes first.

Considering this makes a gallon you may be there awhile.

Bubble Mixture

  • 1 gallon container
  • 2/3 cup dishwashing soap
  • 3 tbsp. glycerin(available at most drugstores)
  • water to fill container

Mix soap and glycerin.  Add to container.  Slowly pour in water and mix carefully.  Try not to cause it to foam.  Allow to stand overnight.
