KMOPC36081BB Clear Glass Coffee Mugs, 12 oz., 8 per PackKraft Jell-O Sugar-Free Gelatin Dessert, Black Cherry, 0.3-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 24)

I was just chatting with another mom and she suggested something for sore throats that I never heard of. When her kids come down with a sore throat, she mixes up a box of jello, pours it into a mug and then her kids drink it like a cup of tea. Has anyone else given this a try??

My first recollection of Hot Jello goes back to the 50’s.

In Detroit Jello advertised for moms to serve Hot Jello to warm kids up when they came in from the cold Detroit winters. I suspect this was advertised in other markets as well.

I doubt there is much medicinal use for it other than the novelty of it which probably makes the kids happier.

I question whether giving your kids a cup of hot food coloring and artificial flavorings is healthy.

My grandmother used to give me Brandy to clear my soar throat… and it worked. I passed out.

I have to agree. It might soothe the throat, but maybe honey would be an alternative?

And I like the idea of brandy lol… well, maybe for me at least.
