Household chores and CFS are ruining my life

For whatever reason, I have gotten behind on my household chores over the last few weeks (I am going to blame the mono…even if it isn’t totally the truth). Now my house is reasonably clean, just not company clean…however, it makes me feel a little guilty that it isn’t quite up to my standards. So, this weekend I have been busy washing dishes, and scubbing floors, and other such things. My hands have spent a LOT of time in water this weekend. Sometimes I was smart and thought to wear rubber gloves, but most of the time I had forgotten to do that.
So now I have extremely dry wrinkled hands. My skin hurts. A LOT!!!! This is really not good news for a girl who plays guitar. Especially a classical guitar. Callouses may be ugly, but they are necessary to play guitar pain free. So now not only do I have to source a new hand cream to help alleviate the hurt skin, but I have to build up new callouses (which takes time, and PAIN).
Right about now you are asking yourself, what does any of this have to do with CFS. Well I will tell you. If it wasn’t for CFS, I most likely wouldn’t have had this latest battle of mono, which has severly depleted my energy….and I wouldn’t have had to do chore after chore after chore featuring lots and lots of water, all at once.
Anyone have any suggestions for the anti manicure?????

Unfragranced sorbolene for the dry cracked hands. Lots of it.
I think they will take a while to mend by the sound of it. Tha calluses, well I can’t help with those – more guitar playing I guess. I have been trying to acquire some myself, I’m trying to learn guitar, so I know your pain!
Thanks Ellie, I will do some sourcing.
Ahh first guitar caused callouses…that brings me back, I was about 7 years old when I got my first set.
Good luck with the guitar playing, its really great therapy.
A company called “Heal My Hands” sounds pretty good. You’ll have to google to get the URL. I haven’t tried it, but they sound good.
