Houston City Hall Gets Solar Panels

The mayor of Houston, Bill White, has started the solar energy campaign just this week. He unveiled at the City Hall solar arrays which has the capacity to produce 12,000 kilowatts. That project was received really well and this certainly is a good way to inform the rest of the city of the benefits of solar power and just what the whole community could get from using such a source of power.

This move is actually a part of the Solar America City Partnership which has a goal—that by the year 2015, solar power would become mainstream. And White shared, “We’re lucky in the Houston area. We have good solar insulation characteristics, which is a fancy way of saying the sun shines hot and we can produce electricity out of that.”
