A 25 year-old man who was diagnosed with high-functioning autism at the age of three, gives presentations about autism and his life. David Hamrick is currently pursuing his Masters Degree in Meterology. His goal is to become a forecaster for the National Weather Service.

David has written a paper which is available to read online in a PDF format all you need is Adobe Reader and you are good to go. He can tell you a lot about autism and what it is like from the inside out a glimpse into the autistic brain, if you will. David was also the keynote speaker at the Autism Society of Wisconsins 2001 conference. His keynote presentation handout is very enlightening for those of us not on the autism spectrum.

Successes are possible for individuals who are high functioning autistics. The problem is often not the teenager or adult who has autism, but our society and how it views a disability that so affects the behavior and social interaction of a person. David Hamrick, is a young man who by living his life the way he chooses, is working to change those perceptions.

About Weblogs wishes him the best for his future!
