How does your cat wake you up?

Do you like how I asked that? As if it’s totally fine and normal for your cat to wake you up.
As you well know, cats like their routines. Choco knows when husband Michael usually gets up and when I get up. If either of us sleeps later, he’s on the scene.
My cat’s wake up stratagems:
• The simple meow
• The prolonged and repeated meow
• Jumping on top of me
• Nibbling playfully at my toes or fingers
• Tackling my feet as if they’re toys under the covers
• Sticking his paw on my face
And the grandest of all: Jumping on top of my radio alarm clock so that it starts playing.
The funny thing about the alarm clock stratagem is that Choco reserves it for times when he means serious business. He’ll do it about four times a year. He did it to my pet sitter who was amazed. And I’ve studied Choco as he’s about to jump on top of my clock. He made that jump just this morning in fact, after I ignored his meows.
He stood on the floor, stared up, swayed around a little and then jumped perfectly on top of the button that turned on the radio. I think he reserves the alarm clock jump for special occasions simply because he hates to trigger loud music. Poor cat.
