How Easy It Is To Get Dehydrated…

SimonCataudo How easy is it to get dehydrated when out and about at sporting events or the beach? Very easy, it’s easy to forget to drink water when other drinks are available…like beer!

You may have noticed I didn’t post anything yesterday. Yesterday we had a company golf tournament with a bunch of people from the company I work for, some customers and some vendor reps. I had the pleasure of driving the beverage cart and taking all sorts of pictures. I drank about a liter of water before we started and it wasn’t really a hot day. It was a bit breezy, the sun was out and the humidity was low.  Anyway, as the day got closer to noon I had my first beer. I told myself that I was going to drink plenty of water to keep from getting dehydrated and get a splitting headache. I drank more than my share of lite beers throughout the day and ended up a bit dehydrated with a splitting headache when I got home. Go figure. I drank plenty of water last night and some this morning.

It’s easy to forget about drinking water when other beverages are available. Once you start to get dehydrated it takes time for your body to recover and absorb the water your drinking to replenish. Next year I’ll be playing the tournament and I can’t wait. But this time I did something stupid and did not drink water throughout the day. Coors Lite is close to water…but not close enough.

Oh yeah…I didn’t wear sunscreen again and my face and arms are a bit burnt. I’m just a glutton for punishment!
