How effective are smoke alarms in waking children up?

More than half of children who die during fires are asleep… and having a working smoke alarm at home is a fire safety measure for every family.

But this video would send chills through your spine.

Watch as the children sleep through the smoke alarms! The experiment has the alarms blaring for 3 minutes and the kids don’t even seem to hear the shrilling sound.

However, a new smoke detector with a parent’s voice recorded into it, telling the child to wake up, has the youngest child waking in under 30 seconds!

    I was surprised to learn this notion has been kicking around for 25 years. t is clear that, Yes, if you have kids, you need a voice smoke alarm.
