How Pets Are Good for Your Health

Pets and People: The Power of the Health Connection is a program you can watch online at Discovery Health.
The videos cover research behind pets helping people and the application of it in real life. I learned several things by watching the program. For one, I had no idea that horses were used in physical therapy! Also, heart attack victims who had pets were more likely to be alive one year after the attack.

Topics covered at Pets and People: The Power of the Health Connection include:
• Stress relief provided by pets, especially in helping to reduce heart disease
• Assistance animals changing lives
• Therapy dogs lifting spirits
• Horses and humans team up for physical therapy
Do you believe that your pet has a healthy effect on your life?
