How To Make Painted Floor Cloths

Do you want a new floor covering, but don’t want to go for run of the mill carpet from a store?

How about making your own?

Painted floor cloths are essentially heavy canvas that’s been decorated and then sealed, so they can be mopped and swept clean.

The DIY Network has a great tutorial for making a decoupaged floor cloth.  I’ve also painted them using a good quality acrylic paint.  As long as they’re properly sealed (either ModPodge or polyurethane) the cloths are very sturdy and will last for years.
