How to Open a Pomegranate
November is designated as the National Pomegranate Month. Yep, this delectable and antioxidant-rich fruit that’s been shown to ward off lung and prostate cancer, is only available from September to January, and peaks right about now, so go and enjoy one!

Do you know how to open and enjoy those flavorful seeds? I enjoy picking them off one by one, but if you don’t have the patience, here’s a faster and less messy method of preparing poms: cut it up into sections and roll out the seeds (called arils) in a bowl of water.
With the holidays coming up, you might want to use those bright red pomegranate seeds to make more festive-looking dishes. Check here for recipes.

Interesting post. Pomegranate seeds not only make dishes look beautiful but the consumption of pomegranate juice by prostate cancer patients can lead to an increased doubling time for prostate specific antigen, a primary indicator of prostate cancer risk.
