If your lamp cord is starting to look a little worse for wear or it may on occasions be flickering, it just may be time for you to consider replacing the internal mechanism.

Replacement of the lamp cord and the lamp socket would be advisable, at the same time if you should wish to change your lamp over to a 3 way socket this is the time to consider it.

Videos on how to do this can be found at:

Howcast: available on you tube – 15 easy steps to completion.

Materials required:

  • Screwdriver
  • Electrical tape
  • Wire cutters/strippers
  • Lamp socket
  • 6 – 8 feet of new lamp cord
  • Replacement felt for bottom
  • Glue to replace felt

Some people like written instruction so they can have it in print when they are doing the work, below your will find web sites for just that purpose.
