How To Shave Your Head

A site that I just love love love is ehow. I love just being able to type in something that I have never tried, and finding out 10 different ways to try said activity (step by step). I try to check out a new activity everyday. Today I looked up “how to shave your own head”. Now I am not exactly ready to shave my head, and if I did – I probably would get my hairstylist to do it for me – at least the initial “cut”.
Today’s step by step process can be found in greater detail here, but I will break it down for you in summarized form.
*Shave in the shower – steam helps! Rub in some nice smelling oil onto your head first (like lavender)
*Lather your head with shaving cream or shaving oil
*Shave slowly, keeping your razor clean – use your free hand to guide where your hair is
*Shave against the grain – for a smoother shave
*Rinse off the extra lotion, and finish off by rubbing in a moisturizing lotion.
**and this is a definite reminder – ALWAYS WEAR SUNSCREEN!
And for more male grooming tips, please check out the new Manscaping -101 blog by Tris Hussey. It is most entertaining and informative.

Thanks for the link Laura! This is good info I’ll have to study up on.
Tris,

Shave in the shower? Ingenious. I have a problem with flaking after a head shave. I guess that’s what the moisturizer is for…..but I don’t wanna…too feminine. Is there any other way to keep my head from flaking?
Just shaved as short as I can, witht he electric clippers, been over about 10 times with no comb, so it is quite short, and starting to get sore, so I stopped, will have to try a razor next week.
I have fallen in love with short/no hair!
Cheers
Dave
