How was the special day?

So how was everyone’s Mother’s Day this year? Now we’re two days past it and I can honestly say that it was the best one I’ve ever had. In the past it’s been okay, but there was always too much other stuff going on and it felt anti-climatic. This year was great. It was low-key but that worked because I’m not a high maintenance girl.
I got to see my own mother on Saturday since we had to be in my parents’ area that day anyway and that was perfect – we got to spend more time with her than we would have on Sunday and it was less stressful. We stayed for the whole afternoon and had dinner and it was great.
On Sunday I got to sleep a little bit, was presented with a homemade card that my big girl made in school and a new mp3 player (yay!). They all went out and got me McDonalds for breakfast, something I had missed from my days of working outside the home, and then we hit up a used book store (my idea of heaven) and the waterfront. We finished off with a stop at the ice cream store, a visit with my mother-in-law, and an easy dinner at home.
The best gift came that night (get your mind out of the gutter!) when both girls were so tired from the weekend that they fell asleep quickly and easily which gave me a nice quiet evening of playing around with the 100+ photos I had taken over the two days.
I hope yours was great as well!
