I Could Get Used to This

I like my new laptop.
There, I have admitted it, o.k.? It has a lot going for it…it is red, which is like my second favorite color in the entire known universe..Burnt orange is my first..but I don’t think they make laptops in burnt orange.
I wasn’t feeling good today and needed to be off my feet. I laid in bed, with the youngest two kids cuddled up at my side, and wrote four articles. Four. I am lying here, in the dark with Kyrie snuggled in between Marc and I…They are asleep..the house is dark and quiet..and I am comfy..and yet I can still blog…as long as I can keep my eyes open.
Pretty darn cool.
I was thinking today of relationships..what we look for in our spouse..those things that we are alternately drawn to and repulsed by so to speak. If it had not been for Marc doing a little urging I would have walked away from this laptop. I wouldn’t have resented it or been mad about it..I would have just assumed it was another item that was out of my reach financially.
I need that from Marc. I need him to look out for me and force me to be good o myself…because it is one of those issues I just wont do for me. Same thing..this morning. I wasn’t feeling well…I am the designated driver so if I miss church everyone does and I was really struggling to get myself motivated to ignore my discomfort and go..and then Marc came in and said…No. We aren’t going..you need to rest.
When he does that I feel loved and cared for. I feel secure in knowing that he will not allow me to push myself too far. I think sometimes he feels odd stepping in to protect me from me…but it is a good thing.
Marc has the uncanny ability to make me feel very protected when he wants to. It is a nice feeling. I could get used to it.
So, wives, is there anything your husband does that makes you feel protected and safe?
Guys what does your wife do to inspire that protective man thing in you?

Excellent thought Marye! We need to be aware of thinking good thoughts about our spouses.
True Marla..hey, thanks for reading!
“……I am the designated driver so if I miss church everyone does …”
I’m usually 99% of the time the designated driver, but wifey never gets smashed before church
Well I can’t get smashed before church either.
The combination with my meds would kill me….
Just about did her in once as well…some meds she was taking tripled or quadrupled the effects of alcohol, well she had a goodly amount of vodka at an after-work function without realizing the combination.
Never seen anyone so sick before. No taste for Vodka now, I can tell you that.
Cheers,
I’m thrilled about your new laptop Marye. Your Papa owns the laptops on a thousand hills, I’m sure he wanted you to have it
Congrads Marye. I for one am envious, I have to admit.
Laptops give you freedom – off with the ball and chain. Wish it were mine!
thanks Karen..
David don’t be envious…
